Personal philosophy
Jill says:
“I am an early childhood music education specialist, who is committed to providing high quality early music experiences that nurture the whole child.
I have had the privilege and pleasure of teaching children 0 – 5 years and their families for 11 years for the Institute of Early Childhood Music Program for Children, Macquarie University. I also teach music in the preschool setting.
I am passionate about the contribution music makes to all our lives. I am especially convinced of the value of the Kodaly method, which is based on using the voice as the children’s first natural instrument, through children’s rhymes and singing games. Pitched instruments require technique and co-ordination, which children can readily learn when they are older. Now is the time to develop a love of music, singing and aural skills.”
